I just finished this “Iris” relief carving in time for a 6-week art show at the local library. When I say, “just in time”, I do mean JUST in time, like the morning of the opening reception!

Lessons learned:
1. Don’t try a new finish when I’m under the wire for time!
2. I really don’t like water based finishes!

I did use a new finish, hated it, and was up half the night sanding and scraping it off and ended up using my tried and true favorite, Wipe-on Poly!
